A Shigaraki Tradition

Shigaraki has long been known for its ceramic animal figures, beginning with tanuki figurines in the early Meiji era and expanding to many other creatures over time.
This owl design has been lovingly crafted by Meizan artisans for generations.
Displaying several owl vases together creates a delightful and expressive scene.

Shigaraki Owl Vase

This gentle cylindrical vase features two little white owls perched closely together on a branch.
The soft, hand-shaped form carries subtle traces of the artisan's touch, a hallmark of true pottery.
