For someone who always has a cup nearby
Gifts for Coffee & Tea Lovers

The drink itself may be important, but so is the vessel we reach for every day. Handmade ceramics bring small variations in glaze, texture and firing to even the most familiar cup. Over time, details such as a new line of crazing or a subtle change in the glaze become part of using and getting to know the piece.

TEIBAN WARE Drinking Bowl

Celadon TEIBAN WARE Drinking Bowl with wide rounded form

With its wide opening and generous size, the TEIBAN WARE Drinking Bowl works particularly well for café au lait, cappuccino and other milk-based drinks. Its simple form also makes it more versatile than a conventional cup: use it for a morning coffee, soup at lunch, or a small dessert later in the day.

Hi to Tsuki Tea Cup

Celadon Hi to Tsuki Tea Cup with flowing glaze pattern

A familiar tea cup shape becomes more expressive through the glazes of the Hi to Tsuki series. The glaze moves and pools differently during firing, leaving subtle variations from one piece to another. A quiet choice for someone who enjoys noticing the individual character of handmade pottery.

hoccori Owl Mug

White hoccori Owl Mug handmade from Shigaraki ceramic

For something a little more playful, the hoccori Mug brings one of Meizan's small owl characters to an everyday cup. In Japan, owls are also associated with good fortune through the wordplay between fukurō (owl) and fu-kurō, meaning “without hardship.” A small piece of symbolism for a mug that can still be used every day.

For slow evenings and a favorite drink
Gifts for Sake & Drink Lovers

For someone who enjoys slowing down over a favorite drink, the vessel can become part of the ritual. From small sake cups to generous beer cups, Japanese drinking ware offers a chance to experience the texture and weight of pottery directly in the hand.

Hi to Tsuki Sake Cup & Katakuchi

The softly irregular forms and flowing glazes of Hi to Tsuki work especially well in sake ware. Pair a small sake cup with the matching katakuchi pitcher for a simple set that can be brought out for an evening drink or shared at the table.

hoccori Owl Sake Cup & Sake Pitcher

White hoccori Owl Sake Cup handmade in Shigaraki

A more playful take on traditional sake ware. The small owl forms give the familiar pairing of a sake pitcher and cup a little more personality, while remaining pieces made to be brought out and used rather than simply displayed.

For someone who enjoys making a home their own
Ceramic Gifts for the Home

Not every piece of pottery needs to begin at the dining table. A small vase or ceramic object can settle naturally into a shelf, desk or windowsill, becoming part of the room even when it is not being actively used.

ma Small Vase

For a gift made especially for them
Personalized Ceramic Gifts

Reddish Black Floral Emblem Mug with personalized flower crest

Sometimes a small personal detail is what turns an everyday object into something remembered. A date or motif connected to the recipient can give a piece of pottery meaning beyond its everyday use.

Floral Emblem Matching Cups

Scarlet Floral Emblem Matching Cup personalized with a flower crest

Each of the 366 days of the year has its own floral emblem. Choose a birthday, anniversary, or another date that is meaningful to the person receiving it, and the corresponding flower motif is applied to the cup.

The simple design keeps the personalization subtle, making it a quiet way to remember a particular day without turning the piece into something that feels purely commemorative.

Personalized Floral Emblem pieces require approximately one additional week before shipment.

Why Give Shigaraki Ware?

Meizan pottery workshop and ceramic production in Shigaraki, Japan

Shigaraki is one of Japan's historic pottery-producing regions, with a ceramic tradition shaped by the local clay and generations of makers. Meizan has continued making pottery here while developing pieces designed for contemporary daily life.

One of the pleasures of handmade Shigaraki ware is that no two pieces are completely identical. Glazes may flow or pool differently in the kiln, small iron marks can appear in the clay, and subtle variations in color and texture remain visible on the finished piece.

These are not imperfections to be hidden, but traces of the material, firing and hands involved in making the pottery. When given as a gift, each piece carries both an everyday purpose and a connection to the place where it was made.

Ready to Give
