Ceramic Christmas Decorations from Japan | Meizan Christmas Collection
As the end of the year approaches, Christmas slowly begins to find its way into our homes. A tree in the corner, a small Santa on a shelf, or a festive cup brought out for an evening drink can be enough to mark the change of season.
At Meizan, we create a small collection of ceramic Christmas decorations and tableware each year in Shigaraki, Japan. Made from clay and finished by hand, the pieces bring a warm, understated character to Christmas interiors.
Pre-orders begin October 15.
Regular sales will run from November 1 through December 15.
Below, we introduce this year’s Christmas collection together with a few simple ideas for enjoying each piece at home.
A small ceramic tree for the Christmas season
Mini Christmas Tree
Our miniature ceramic Christmas tree combines a simple silhouette with small Swarovski crystal accents that catch the light. Available in white and green, its quiet design fits naturally into both traditional and modern interiors.
Its compact size makes it easy to decorate a shelf, desk, windowsill, or dining table. Display it on its own for a simple seasonal accent, or combine it with our small festive dolls to create a miniature Christmas scene.
A small LED light placed inside can also bring a soft glow through the openings in the tree, highlighting the small crystal details after dark.

Tiny characters for a miniature Christmas scene
Small Christmas Dolls
Small enough to hold between your fingertips, these miniature ceramic decorations come in four designs: Santa, reindeer, Christmas tree, and snowman.
Each little figure can be displayed individually, but they are especially charming when arranged together with the ceramic Christmas tree.
Try arranging a few figures on a small ceramic plate or tray. It creates a compact Christmas display that works particularly well in spaces where a large tree or elaborate decorations may not be practical.

Warm, palm-sized Christmas figures
Santa, Reindeer and Snowman Figurines
With their rounded forms and relaxed expressions, these palm-sized Christmas figurines have a warm presence that comes naturally from their handmade finish.
The collection includes Santa, a reindeer, and a snowman. Because each piece is made and finished by hand, subtle differences in shape, glaze, and expression give every figure its own character.
Place one in the entryway, on a bookshelf, beside a plant, or among your usual interior objects. Their small scale makes it easy to add a little Christmas atmosphere without changing the whole room.
A Christmas decoration with a second purpose
Santa’s House Aroma Ornament
With its softly textured walls and snow-covered roof, Santa’s little ceramic house looks almost like a Christmas cookie made from clay.
More than a decoration, the house can also be used as a small ceramic aroma dish.
Add a few drops of your favorite aroma oil to the chimney and enjoy a gentle fragrance alongside the seasonal display. The entrance, bedside, or a quiet corner of the living room are all natural places for it.
A simple ceramic Santa for modern interiors
Tall Santa
With his pointed hat and slender silhouette, our Tall Santa has a more restrained look than the rounder figures in the collection.
Its simple shape and ceramic finish make it easy to incorporate into contemporary interiors, while still bringing a clear touch of Christmas to the room.
Place him on a windowsill, sideboard, or Christmas table. The understated design also makes this piece a thoughtful seasonal gift for someone who prefers simple decorations over more traditional Christmas ornamentation.
Bring Christmas to the table
Christmas-Limited Ceramic Cups
Christmas does not have to stop at decorations. Our seasonal ceramic cups bring the same festive atmosphere to the table.
Based on one of Meizan’s familiar cup forms, the Christmas editions feature playful seasonal designs while retaining the warm texture of Shigaraki ceramic.
Use them for coffee, tea, or a warm drink during a Christmas gathering. Even when they are not in use, their distinctive shapes allow them to become part of the seasonal table display.
A Small Christmas, Made in Shigaraki
Christmas decorations do not always need to be large or elaborate. A few carefully chosen objects can be enough to change the atmosphere of a familiar room.
Made in Shigaraki, each piece in Meizan’s Christmas collection combines the warmth of ceramic with motifs that only appear at this time of year. We hope you enjoy finding a place for them among the objects already part of your home.
